The athletic program at Cross Lanes Christian School is an integral part of our students’ total educational experience. It is designed to provide positive learning opportunities for each student who participates, and to build school spirit. A primary goal of the athletic program is to develop Christ-like character, attitudes, and behavior in each athlete. Athletes are encouraged to see their abilities as gifts from God.
Decision-making skills, good citizenship, good sportsmanship, and the promotion of individual maturity should also result from athletic participation. These characteristics contribute to the development of both individual skills and team play, which are beneficial for a successful season as well as lessons for life. Athletics can also be a powerful tool for ministry, as students learn practical ways to witness and to serve others through participation in sports.
