Fifty years! With thanksgiving, we praise the Lord for His continuing faithfulness to bless and prosper Cross Lanes Christian School!
Friends, supporters, administrators, pastors, graduates, faculty, and staff—past and present—gathered in our school gymnasium for our 50th Anniversary Banquet, “An Evening of Thanksgiving,” held Saturday, November 11, 2023. Handshakes, hugs, and memories were shared as impromptu reunions decorated the evening with smiles and laughter. Yearbooks from the past were available for smiling guests to reminisce, recounting experiences to a younger generation, some of which were former and current students of CLCS.
The event was exquisitely catered by 1010 Bridge Restaurant and served by our own high school student council members. A selection of herb roasted chicken, Cajun shrimp pasta, and sides were followed by dessert of cookies and tartlets.
Keynote speaker for the banquet was Dr. Daniel Anderson, president of Appalachian Bible College. Our school handbell choir, directed by Mrs. Madonna Estep (with the assistance of Lucas Massey, student), provided instrumental music while Mr. Robert Ballard, alumnus, provided vocal music.
