Ms. Milam is in her second year teaching at CLCS. She earned her undergrad degree at High Point University in High Point, NC. Her Masters of Education is from Azusa Pacific University in Los Angeles, CA. She is a member of Elkview Baptist Church where she serves as the AWANA Commander, works with the Children’s choir, sings in the church choir, and is active in the ladies ministry.

She was saved as a young child. Through the influence of strong Christian parents, she was led to the Lord and has been faithful to follow the Him in her life ever since.

Ms. Milam claims a couple of special verses to guide her life. Ephesians 4:32 “And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.” She also loves the message presented in Romans 8:38-39 “For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Ms. Milam teaches English 7, 9, 11, 12 at CLCS. She is the current Junior Class sponsor.  She is qualified and approved to teach dual credit college level Senior English. Students in her Senior English class receive credit from West Virginia State University. Her hobbies include reading, writing, movies, plays, crafting and singing. She has been to China twice and has moved cross-country twice from Maine to California and from California to West Virginia. For your trivia pleasure, she reports that she only has ever had three wisdom teeth (and has not had any of them removed).

She truly feels that the Lord has placed her at CLCS. She loves the “light-bulb” moments when students “get it” in her classes. She feels a special sense of accomplishment with she sees students, who understand the lesson, willing and able to help other classmates. Ms. Milam says “CLCS has given me so many opportunities to grow and develop my skills, and for that I am grateful.”

Congratulations on being selected as the Teacher in the Spotlight.
