CLCS Students Participate in Operation Christmas Child

Thanks to the generosity of CLCS families, over a hundred children will have a special gift to open for Christmas this year—for some, it may be the only gift they have ever received. CLCS students participated in Operation Christmas Child, a ministry of Samaritan’s Purse.

Friday, November 12, students brought shoe boxes to school they had filled with age-specific treats: socks, personal hygiene items, a “wow” gift, and anything else a child would love that could fit into the box. Student council members stacked the Christmas-themed shoe boxes in the center of the gymnasium floor where all elementary students and participating middle and high school students gathered to pray for the children who will be receiving the boxes. Student body extension ministry coordinator, Megan Walker, who organized the event, led the students in prayer.

Megan delivered the shoe boxes to Cross Lanes Baptist Church, an Operation Christmas Child collection site, during National Collection Week. Volunteers at the church collected the boxes and prayed for the children receiving them. Thank you to all who participated in Operation Christmas Child!
