Eighty CLCS students and nine staff members arrived at Alpine Bible Camp August 25 for a time of fellowship, spiritual encouragement, and fun at our annual High School Overnight Retreat.
The annual event provides:
- an opportunity for our senior high students to bond as a high school.
- something for Middle School students to eagerly anticipate when they reach high school age.
- ownership and identity as a High School to these great CLCS students.
- a “lab” for our student leaders to help visualize, organize, supervise, and participate.
Many activities were available for students to enjoy on the campus of ABC including a ropes challenge course, indoor rock wall, giant swing, water slide, pool, paintball, and 6-square. The group also participated in group activities, some fun time challenges, and snacks.
Dr Mitri Ghareeb delivered challenging messages for the two chapel services, focusing on the issues that face teens today.
Students and teachers participated in two games which have become traditional: the Cat in the Hat game and Brutal Basketball. New this year was Glow-in-the Dark Dodgeball and Photo Panic Pandemonium. Students completed a list of poses for photos in which everyone in the group was required to participate.
The two-day event concluded with the traditional bonfire and student testimonies. What a great time of fun and fellowship!
