The CLCS Elementary Handbell Choir is open to students in 4th and 5th grades. Playing handbells is a great way to foster the development of rhythm, coordination, and listening skills. It also teaches students basic music reading skills and teamwork. Our handbell choir performs bi-annually at the Christmas Concert in December and at the Spring Concert. They participate and have received Superior ratings in the West Virginia Christian Education Association (WVCEA) Fine Arts competition every spring. The group performs at local nursing homes and local churches for senior citizen groups. Practices are held after school.Â
CLCS currently offers beginning band for fifth graders. We plan to soon expand band opportunities to other grades. Band will have opportunities for performances including competition in the WVCEA Fine Arts Festival.Â
