Kindergartners (and their parents!) often experience their first full week, all-day time away from home; it can be a time of anxiety and uncertainty for students and parents . At CLCS, we make that transition as smooth and painless as possible.
Before enrollment and acceptance, families meet with our administrator, Mr. Riley, and take a tour of our campus, including the kindergarten classroom.
When the application for enrollment is completed and accepted and all requirements have been met, the student will be scheduled for Kindergarten Round-Up in the spring. The county nurse and speech therapist will be on campus for hearing, vision, and speech screenings and the family has another opportunity to become more familiar with our campus. During the summer, near the first day of school, new families will have the opportunity to attend an orientation and a time of fellowship with other new families. Half days for kindergartners the first week of school helps them ease into their school day routine before beginning full days the second week.Â
Our kindergarten provides a safe and structured environment where your child will learn to follow classroom rules, to get along with others, and to experience art, music, and academics taught by loving, godly teachers. A special graduation ceremony is held each year just for the kindergarten class!
Call us today to begin your upcoming kindergartner’s education at our kindergarten through twelfth grade institution—before you know it, you will be planning for high school graduation!
