Miss Chloe Beakes, CLCS senior and daughter of Ben and Sarah Beakes, has committed to joining the University of Charleston’s cheer team! The signing ceremony took place in our school gymnasium January 8 with the student body in attendance. Chloe’s CLCS cheer coaches, Kalia Jeffrey and Aspen Gonzales, attended the ceremony. Coach Jeffrey and AD Blake Moore honored Chloe with congratulatory speeches.
Mrs. Jacqueline Brown, University of Charleston head cheer coach, welcomed Chloe onto the team. Coach Brown, a CLCS alumnus, commended our school for excellence in education. She explained that UC searches for excellence in choosing cheer team members and that Chloe’s determination to strive for excellence makes her a great fit for the team!
Chloe plans to major in accounting and marketing next fall when she attends the University of Charleston. Both her parents, her great-grandfather, Mike Albert (who attended the ceremony!), and her uncle, Drew Orrison, graduated from UC (formerly Morris Harvey).
Way to go, Chloe! We know you are going to make a great Golden Eagle cheer leader!
